Following the report of the May Day blast which occurred along the Nyanya-Maraba road at about 8:22pm yesterday, the National Emergency Management Agency has confirmed that 9 persons were killed leaving 11 others unconsciously injured.

However, the lifeless bodies have been deposited in the mortuary while the injured victims are said to be receiving medical treatment in different hospitals in Abuja. Relatively, blood is currently needed at the Asokoro General Hospital, Abuja in an effort to save survivals who suffered severe injuries in the blast.
As a result of this second Nyanya blast which occurred barely three weeks after the Nyanya blast of April 14, 2014, the security operatives are said to have permanently closed down the Nyanya highway and created a diversion through Karu bridge leading to the other end of Nyanya towards Maraba
area.
