Blessing Okagbare Breaks Records In China

Nigerians got talent! At the occasion of the Shanghai Diamond League, our very own star athlete, Blessing Okagbare emerged tops in both the long jump and the 200m events that she took part in. The Nigerian set a new meeting record in the long jump taking the first position with a 6.86 metres leap.

She equally followed it up with another meeting record of 22.36secs in the women’s 200m event, beating Anthonique Strachan from Bahamas.

Only last week,Okagbare came in at second position in the 100m event at the Diamond League in Doha, finishing only behind Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Meanwhile in the 400m,American Allyson Felix had a disappointing run on her return from an injury,finishing fifth.

Jamaican Novlene Williams-Mills came first while Botswanan Amantle Montsho finished in second position.
