APC blasts Jonathan for being more interested in celebrating than mourning dead students

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has lampooned President Goodluck Jonathan over his nationwide broadcast on Wednesday.

The party, in a statement on Thursday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, wondered why Jonathan devoted the national broadcast to the centenary celebration and not the gruesome murder of over 40 school children in Yobe State.
The party said Jonathan’s action was a wrong signal sent to the world about the value placed on human and children lives by the Nigerian government.

It tagged jonathan’s address as insensitive, misplaced, and an embarrassment to the people of Nigeria.
According to the party, “Even as the nation is still counting the death toll from Monday night’s senseless and gruesome murder of our children, and the ceaseless killings of innocent civilians, the President has already switched into a celebratory mood, dwelling on the money-wasting centenary-celebrations instead of leading a clearly distraught nation in mourning.
