An Austin based cab driver Nelson Egwu (Nigerian) has been arrested by the police in Austin Texas for forcing a teenage passenger to perform a sex act when she told the driver she was unable to pay the fare.
The 17-year-old teen told police she had called the cab to take her to a friend's house but later realized she didn't have enough money for the fare. Egwu then allegedly drove to a parking lot where the assault occurred.
An arrest warrant indicates 51-year-old Nelson Egwu of Pflugerville covered a camera in his cab during the Jan. 19 incident. The Austin American-Statesman reports he's charged with sexual performance of a child.
Egwu remained in the Williamson County jail Tuesday on a $60,000 bond. Online jail records did not indicate an attorney for him.
