Man, 23, Remanded For Chopping Off Woman’s Finger (Ring Finger)

Mrs. Ogochukwu Aronwu will forever remember the sad event which led to the loss of her finger (fourth finger of her left hand)which was completely chopped off from her hand by a 23-year-old labourer, Isaac John.

Isaac John who was armed with a knife and other dangerous weapons was alleged to have robbed Mrs. Ogochukwu of her hand bag containing some money and headtie on February 14, 2014 at about 7:50 p.m along Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Ikeja area of Lagos state.  (So the best way to forcefully collect her hand bag is to chop off her finger eh kwa!!)



Isaac John (the defendant) in a suit filed against him by the police is presently facing a three count charge bordering on robbery, infliction of wound and attempted murder.

Isaac John was yesterday, remanded in prison custody by an Ikeja magistrate’s court pending when his remand warrant will be brought to court.

Magistrate Eniola Fabamwo ordered that he be remanded after going through the first count charge.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi alleged that John inflicted wound on his victim by cutting off her left hand, adding that the defendant with intent to kill his victim, used a knife to cut off the fourth finger of her left hand.

However, the defendant, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to the charges.

The magistrate then adjourned the case till March 10, 2014.

*So this woman has been afflicted with a physical and emotional pain that she would bear for a long time as her ring finger had been chopped off. Thank God she is already married else, where would she fix her ring on her wedding day? This is very bad!*
