FG Closes 5 Federal Government Colleges In The North

 
The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike made the announcement yesterday, Wednesday 5th March, 2014 on the closure of five(5) Federal Government colleges located in Northern Nigeria, precisely; Yobe, Borno and Adamawa.

The schools were closed because they were considered to be located 'within the high security risk areas in the North.'. (Basically because of the killing of the college students in FGC Yobe).

The schools that were shut down are:
1. Federal Government Girls College, Munguno
2. Federal Science and Technical College, Lassa in Borno
3. Federal Government College, Potiskum
4. Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe
5. Federal Science and Technical College, Michika, Adamawa.

The schools will remain closed until the security situation in the states improves, while the teachers of the affected schools will be sent to new schools.
