Olusegun Obasanjo |
Groups, Peoples Democratic Party, Reloaded, and Arise Nigeria, yesterday in Abuja asked security agencies to arrest former President, Olusegun Obasanjo over his recent letter to President Goodluck Jonathan.
Both groups recalled that a similar letter to former President, Shehu Shagari was followed by the 1984 Coup d’etat.
National coordinators of the groups, Chief Richard Lamai of the PDP Reloaded and Chief Jasper Johnson of the Arise Nigeria, described the controversial letter as ‘satanic verses’ and further says;
“This accusation can only combust the polity and truncate democracy as we can recall that such satanic verses penned by Obasanjo to former President ,Shehu Shagari resulted into a Coup d’etat,” Lamai said.
While urging security agencies to arrest Obasanjo to help them unravel the mystery camp where snipers are being trained and the list of those marked for elimination, he said Nigerians “would not want a situation where the witch cried last night and the child is dying in the day”.
Obasanjo had written an 18 page letter to President Jonathan on Dec 2, 2013 accusing him of playing ethnic politics and losing grip of the country’s leadership as well as training snipers to eliminate targeted politicians.
