According to PM News, it was heard in a magistrate's court sitting in Ejibo, Lagos State were an angry father; Mike Udoma who has been frustrated by his son's stealing habit informed the Magistrate that his son was a thief and therefore, pleaded with the court to jail his son; Macaulay Udoma according to law.
The embittered father further told the court that his son had been a terror in their family and always stole any money he sees in the house irrespective of where it is hidden! He also added that he wants his son to be jailed so that his family can once again have peace as they have been going through trauma over the years as a result of Macaulay's theft habit. He said:
" “I have
been wondering how he locates where there is money in the family house.
No matter where you hide money, he will locate and steal it,”
Macaulay's arrest was ordered by his father when he burgled into his office at 7 Ona-Aro Street, Idimu, Lagos and stole his different bank cheque booklets. He was arrested by the police at Idimu Division and was charged to court where he is facing a five-count charge of stealing under the
Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
Macaulay who is a 24-year-old Nigerian citizen was arraigned before the court and he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was remanded in
prison custody at Kirikiri.
According to his father, Macaulay chose to be a commercial driver over education while other of his siblings are presently pursuing their education.
He had been granted a bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. This was granted by the presiding Magistrate, Mrs M.B. Folam. However, he will still have to remain in prison custody till his bail condition is perfected.
The matter was adjourned till 25 June 2014.
This kind of child that causes sorrow. So sad! I hope when he gets a bail, he would not act gruesomely to his family.
