Another Attack: Boko Haram Kills Borno Monarch & 19 Others In Fresh Attacks

“They simply walked right into the palace of the monarch and shot him in his bedroom.”

About 20 villagers including a monarch were killed after gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists, attacked two villages in different parts of Borno state on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, security sources and witnesses said.

In one of the attacks, the gunmen on Wednesday morning at about 7 a.m. stormed Wala Village, killing 18 villagers and injuring several others.

Wala Village is in Gwoza Local Government Area, some 130 km southwest of Maiduguri, the Borno capital.

A local government official, who does not want to be named for security reasons, said “We are in difficult times in Gwoza local government; deaths and killings has become a daily affair; 18 people were killed in Wala this morning by the Boko Haram gunmen”.

It kept me wondering how the Federal Government would be aloof of the happenings in the hospital. Some died and those that were fortunate to survive have been in various Government hospitals in Abuja. The president has visited, given instructions and many well meaning Nigerians have donated blood further to the request made by NEMA to save some fatal cases of blood shortage in some victims.

The injured victims in the hospital are complaining of hunger . For many Nigerians to have turned up few hours after the report of shortage of blood, then it means a lot care; why not those in authorities?

Report has it that so many food stuffs have been donated so why are the management of these hospitals hiding the food stuffs and other items distributed? Little wonder, the bloods donated so far might not be administered on these patients. #justasking

Blast Victims: The Hospital Only Gave Us Injection And Drips - Injured Victims Narrates The Ordeal Of How They Face Hunger In The Hospital.

 

Report from PremiumTimes revealed the shocking experiences the injured victims in the hospital had to face. No food No food!!! This is inhumane!

Shuaibu Abukabar was one lucky survivor of the Nyanya Bomb blast. According to him, he actually passed out and was amongst the dead bodies that were heaped in a truck till he signaled "life" and was removed.

Abubakar narrating the incident from when he regained consciouisness speaks;

“At first there was quietness and suddenly I saw smoke and fire, then I passed out,”

“After I fainted only to open my eyes and tried to turn only to find myself inside a truck with dismembered bodies, they noticed me and later removed me when they realized that I am still alive,” “As I am talking to you now, there is so much noise inside my head, I cannot move my legs, the doctors attended to me, gave me drips and medicine.”

At the Maitama hospital where Mr. Abubakar was being treated on Tuesday, he said he had to endure not only pains but the pangs of hunger. He had, on the day of the incident, missed breakfast, having left so early, and throughout Monday, ate nothing. The hospital provided nothing and he remained hungry until Tuesday morning when reporters visited the hospital.He said:

“I did not eat anything I was too weak to eat but at midnight I couldn’t sleep of hunger, the last time I ate was on Sunday evening, but there was no food provision. Some people from the mosque came here to give me bread and tea this morning, the hospital only gave us injections and drips. I am still hungry, broke and with no money.”

President Jonathan who was in Kano State on Tuesday; April 14, 2014 for a campaign at the  Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) venue in the state got a revenge from the state governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso whom the president accused of maladministration of the state.

Rescued Baby From The Nyanya Blast Reunites With His Mother

10-month-old baby; Goodness (pictured left) who sustained minor injuries and a swollen eye in the Nyanya bomb blast was taken to the Asokoro Hospital while her petty trader mother, Gloria Adams who trades at the Nyanya bus stop was taken to the Intensive Care Unit of a separate hospital (Wuse General Hospital). Finally, mother and child reunites.

Baby Goodness' mother narrates to the staff of the hospital how she was carrying her baby on her back when the explosion occurred. She said;
“I cannot remember how I got here.  I only saw myself on the ground, turning and turning. Then someone came and removed my baby from my back.”

She added;  “I’m feeling better. Many have died; but I am alive. I give glory to God, for saving me and my little baby."

Baby Goodness is in good condition and is taken care of by her aunt, Maria Dominic.

We Need More Blood For The Nyanya Blast Victims – NEMA

 

During a press briefing at the headquarter of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Abuja on Tuesday, the Director General of the agency; Mr. Sani Sidi calls out to well meaning Nigerians to donate more blood for the injured victims as the number of the injured victims had risen to 133 against 124 which it announced on Monday.He said;

“I will like to further call on our fellow citizens to visit the following hospitals and donate blood which is needed for the assistance of the wounded persons.”

He  further revealed that one of the injured victims involved in the bomb blast died Tuesday morning , some were still in critical condition while others had been stabilised. He said;

“The casualty figure was 71 dead and 133 persons injured. A report received from one of the hospitals this morning confirmed the loss of one more life bringing the total to 72 deaths.”

19-Year-Old Pakistani Nabbed With N228m Heroin At MMIA, Lagos

 

Pakistani teenager of 19, Iftikihar Muhammed Arslan who was trying to smuggle 25 parcels of heroin weighing 25.400kg worth about 228 Million Naira was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

Luck ran out of Iftikihar who claims to be a student of Punjab College in Pakistan when the said heroine was discovered in his luggage during the inward screening of passengers on board a Qatar airline flight.

The suspect who is believed to be working for a Pakistani drug cartel was said to have left Lahore, Pakistan with the drugs to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, then Doha, in Qatar, from where he connected to Lagos.

Iftikihar who speaks English fluently, confessed how he got the drugs. He said;
“I am a student of Punjab College and I am in Nigeria as a tourist because my friend told me that Victoria Island and Ikoyi are beautiful tourist centres. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the Lagos airport, the heroin was found in my luggage. This is my first time of coming to Nigeria and I had intended to spend a week or two.”

According to the NDLEA spokesman; Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju, the suspect was cooperating with the agency’s team of investigators.

Chinese Baby Born With Extra Limbs Successfully Operated

 The 13-day-old Chinese baby who was born with an extra limb has successfully undergone a separation surgery.  The baby who was born joined to a headless parasitic twin weighed 0.6kg at birth and is now in a stable condition.

The boy’s father Mr Chen said he had taken his son to many hospitals near his home, but  in none of them doctors could explain the reasons for his deformity.

He however blamed himself, saying he didn’t pay enough attention to his pregnant wife because of working all day long.

Ebola Virus Confirmed 121 Deads In West Africa

Following the announcement made by World Health Organisation (WHO) concerning the Ebola virus which has crept into West Africa and has already killed over 120 people, it has been recorded that as at Monday, over 200 suspected/confirmed cases were recorded with 120 confirmed deaths linked to Ebola virus, found in Guinea, Liberia and Mali. Tests are ongoing in all countries, with Guinea having the most number of those who died of Ebola and Mali yet to confirm first case.

Guinea and Liberia officially confirmed to have had 121 deaths to Ebola, according to World Health Organisation.

So far, there is no vaccine or cure from the deadly virus. According to the officials, this outbreak could last for months. Sick and suspected patients are isolated in medical wards.

“My Husband Wants To Kill Me Two Months After Our Wedding” – Medical Doctor Tells Court

The rate of domestic violence has been so alarming in recent times. I used to think that this happened only in illiterate homes but this time around, the reverse is the case as a female doctor describes the violence in her young marriage of June 2013 to her doctor husband whom she discovered was in a legal marriage to another woman and had a baby girl already.

The medical practitioner stated that her life is now in constant danger owing to threats from some strange faces suspected to be working for her husband. According to her, the husband, Dr. Obeka, had always boasted that with his closeness with Nigeria’s minister of health, he would make her lose her job at the hospital. She said;
“I feel so unsafe here everyday, strange faces are following me around. It took the intervention of the First Lady of Ebonyi State, before he allowed me to collect my personal effects.
“I plead with concerned Nigerians to come to my aid so that I will be transferred to another state before they kill me”

Jonathan Finally Celebrates With The Olubadan Of Ibadan On His 100th Birthday

It was reported that after the Nyanya blast incident in Abuja yesterday, the president who was to visit Ibadan to celebrate with the Olubadan of Ibadan on his 100th birthday celebration cancelled his trip to visit the blast scene and also the injured victims in the hospital.

Lagos Electricity May Not Improve Till 2018- Commissioner

At the end of the Lagos Economic Summit last Thursday, Commissioner Ben Akabueze after  a meeting with power investors revealed to newsmen that the poor electricity supply in Lagos State won’t improve sooner than five years time. He said:

“The truth from what we heard, it won’t be anything sooner than five years to see any significant improvement in the power situation and in the power sector. When they say short term, we are talking about five years,’

The commissioner said that the purpose of the 7th Lagos Economic Summit, Ehingbeti 2014 which was held between April 8- 10, 2014, at the Eko convention centre of Eko Hotel in Lagos was to present an enabling environment for investors who are majorly from Europe;
“Well, I think we’ve provided the platform and a good one at that to discuss the issues; and a lot of people who attended now understand better, the nature of the power industry, what the issues are, what it will take to solve them."

The commissioner also allayed fears that the economic summit might be jettisoned by the coming administration.

How tragic of that #AbujaBombBlast which occurred yesterday to have kept the nation in distress as 71 have been confirmed dead and 124 fatally injured and receiving treatment. However, alot of well meaning Nigerians and even politicians such as Bukola Saraki and Speaker Tambuwal amongst others have donated blood for the victims. Also inclusive is the British High Commissioner to Nigeria.

Meet The Rapist Who Threatened To Publish The Photos Of His Schoolgirl Victim On Social Media If She Told Anyone

21-year-old Martin Babak Lyon of Chiltern Heights, Amersham was alleged to have raped a 16-year-old school girl in Buckinghamshire in November 2012, took photos of the poor schoolgirl and threatened to publish them on a social media is she told anyone.

He was convicted in February of three counts of rape and one count of taking an indecent photograph of a child, and finally sentence to 9-years imprisonment at Reading Crown Court yesterday.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Thomas Gregory said: "The sentence given to Lyon demonstrates that the courts take incidents such as these very seriously.

"I hope the sentence brings some closure to the victim, who was only 16 at the time.

"She was incredibly brave to report the offences to the police and then to give evidence at court.

"I commend the victim for the courage she has demonstrated during this very traumatic period."

Boy Of 5 Shoots A Girl Of 7 To Death With A Gun He Assumed To Be Toy While In A Birthday Party

So tragic how innocent children become murderers. 7-year-old Juliet Lynch (pictured above) was accidentally shot dead by a little boy of 5 years who mistook the rifle he found in his mum's boyfriend's car for a toy gun. According to Police in South Carolina.

This sad incident occurred at a birthday party which finally turned to a sour gathering of kids. Little wonder, the little boy who was playing with the rifle fired a shot and the bullet passed through the car and fragments and struck Juliet right in her chest. Also, there was a record of a fatal injury of another 5-year-old boy who was hit in his arm by the shrapnel.

The mother of the deceased child while speaking to WLTX (the local news network) described the moment she realised her daughter had been shot. She said;
"All of a sudden, I heard a gunshot and her dad ran around the house and he said 'Juliet'"
"I just don't understand why someone would bring a gun to a kid's party? Why would you let a kid go to the trunk if you knew the gun was there, why?
"I cannot blame the child, but I do blame the adult that did have that gun."

Police Arrest Identical Twins For Robbery In Lagos

27-year-old Taiye and Kehinde Balogun (pictured above) are identical twins who work as welders but were hired by a robbery gang to break into a warehouse factory belonging to Reckitt Benckister (producers of Dettol) in May 2013.  The Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Lagos arrested the twin after the prime suspect who was caught in February 2014 revealed that the twins were connected to the robbery incident in which they robbed to the tone of N17 Million (soaps, noodles and chemicals).

The twins revealed that they were not aware that they were being hired for a robbery operation.

Kehinde said;

“Around May last year, we were called by one guy known as Yankee who lives near our workshop in Agbara. He took us to meet one Deji.

“Deji claimed to be a storekeeper at the factory, saying he had misplaced his key. He took us to the warehouse and said we should break the locks open.

“After breaking the locks, they told us to help them load the chemicals into some trucks. They said they were under instructions to transfer the cartons to another warehouse.

“After helping them load the goods, we were given N10,000 each.”

Boy With Tail Is Worshipped As A Hindu God In His Village

Report seen on Mirror revealed that the six-year-old boy pictured above, Amar Singh has a long hairy tail made from a patch of woven thick hair above his waist. The tail is measuring about 12-inch and as a result, many locals in his village believe it is a religious sign and thereby worship him as a Hindu god.

Villagers in Nijmapur, in the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, have hailed it as a sign that he is connected to the Hindu god Hanuman (a monkey-like deity).

Conjoined Twins Bound At The Waist Run Like A Spider To Get To School

12-year-old conjoined twins Shivanath and Shivram Sahu who were born in a tiny village near Raipur in Central India were at birth, joined at the waist and share two legs, four arms and one stomach but have independent lungs, hearts and brains. They have amazing ways and rare abilities to wash, shower, dress, comb each other's hair and feed themselves and that keeps everyone stunned including their doctors. Funny enough, they wish never to be separated as a pair of the twin who appears to be the stronger one says;

Shivram said: "We don’t wish to get separated. We will stay like this even when we grow old. We want to live as we are.”

Shivanath, who appears to be the weaker of the two twins, said: "We have taught ourselves everything. We ride to school on a bicycle and playing cricket is no problem."

Inspite of this unusual birth, they are able to walk down the stairs of their simple split-level home and even run on all six limbs to play cricket and other games with neighbouring children. They are also talented in academics and considered among the top students at their local school, much to the pride of their doting father, Raj Kumar, 45.

The first picture above is a tweet from a customer of an American Airlines to @USAirways. In response to the customer's complaint, the USAirways representative who handles the twitter account accidentally tweets (update of 3:27pm) a wrong link of a picture model of one of their planes inserted into a woman’s vagina which he originally intended to send to a friend or work colleague.

@USAirways which has about 418,000 followers had most of it followers view the model of their plane in a woman's vagina for over an hour before they took it down. Now this is the most hilarious part of it; the said photo was tweeted twice and so that had the entire internet more enticing. lol

Man Sent To Prison For Being ‘Too Good In Bed’

There is nothing someone will not hear in this world. This is a bizarre happening i found difficult to bring on here but just had to.

A 42 year old Italian man, Romeo Artemio Lori, has been sentenced to six-months imprisonment by the court for being ‘too good at sex’. At the court hearing, it was said that whenever Romeo is having sex with his girlfriend, the whole vicinity will be awake as she moans so loud that the neighbours had reportedly complained and warned Romeo severally to tone down their ‘love noise’ but they ignored the pleas and kept on with the noise daily.
 

A court heard how at least 12 angry neighbours in Vigodarzere, Padua, said they were disturbed by his sexploits and how the love making session goes on for over an hour which means they would have to endure the loud noises for a long time.

7 Dead Babies Found In A Woman’s Home

A woman in Utah was arrested after police found the remains of seven infants that were gruesomely stored in different cardboard boxes in a garage.

39-year-old Megan Huntsman  is believed to have given birth to all of the babies between 1996 and 2006 before killing each and placing their bodies in separate boxes.

 

Hunstman's ex-husband was cleaning out the garage when he found a box that looked suspicious. After taking a glance at what was inside, he discovered a "full-term" baby. Absolutely bananas. He contacted police, and that one phone call opened a whole crazy can of worms when investigators discovered the bodies of six additional infants. All of the babies were found in the garage. 

 

Reportedly, the ranch-style home was split up into two apartments and is owned by the ex-husband's parents. According to Megan's neighbors, the woman has three daughters whose ages range from 13 to 20 years old. Megan's ex-husband is believed to be the father of the babies, but investigators are going to conduct DNA tests. Regardless, Megan is being charged with six counts of murder.

How Possible? Zamfara State Allegedly Has Less Than 10 Qualified Doctors

 

A governor aspirant of Zamfara state; Ibrahim Shehu Gusau (pictured above) who was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) before he defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed that there are only 10 qualified government-sponsored medical doctors serving in Zamfara State which has exposed the citizens to untold suffering and avoidable death as he says the successive administrations had failed the state.

Speaking during an interview programme “Hot seat” put together by the House of Representatives Press Corps in Abuja, Gusau said that Governor Abdullaziz Yari, the APC governor of the state had compounded the situation by failing to provide conducive working environment for doctors and nurses in the state who were left with no option but to seek greener pastures in other parts of the country.

He also added that apart from the poor state of health facilities and absence of qualified doctors, Zamfara was not faring better in terms of other amenities like road, water and educational facilities which he said has confined the state to the least educationally-developed state in the country.

The recent bomb blast of yesterday in Nyanya area of Abuja took many Nigerians to recount the previous blasts in the Federal Capital Territory. The incident of yesterday happens to be the 7th bomb blast in the Nation's capital since all this began in 2010. Below is a timeline of bomb blasts in Abuja:

December 31, 2010:

This was the New Year’s Eve bombing when fun seeking residents getting ready for the Ney Year relaxing, eating and drinking at a bar in a market close to the Mogadishu Military Barracks were hit by a bomb. Soldiers and civilians usually gather to eat at that market. 11 people died in the attack.

August 26, 2011:

The United Nations (UN) Building in Abuja was attacked in a deadly blast which left over 23 people dead and 60 injured according to the official records. The bomb was planted in a car which broke through two security barriers, crashed into the reception area of the building where it was detonated by the suicide bomber.
