Nigerian singer, Sound Sultan and his wife, Farida who got married in 2009 welcomed their 3rd child & 2nd son on Monday; 3rd March (they are already blessed with two sons and a daughter).

The happy papa shared the news on his Twitter page hours ago with a photo of the bundle of joy.


“Help me and my Family thank God. We welcome in our bouncing baby boy yesterday 3-3-14 !thanks for prayers always” he wrote.

The Fuji artiste allegedly used his ‘contacts’ in the police to have the case transferred to SCID, so as to avoid been dragged to court if it’s left at the Isolo Police Division.

We gathered that the embattled musician preferred the SCID to the Isolo Police division because the DPO at the Isolo Police division was not co-operating regarding striking out the case.

Oba Dosunmu is claiming that former president Olusegun Obasanjo knows his correct birth date but won’t disclose it to anybody.

Dosunmu, who described Obasanjo as his “close friend” and “Balogun Owu,” noted that the former president decided to keep the date to himself but was in the habit of telling people he was “born in Ibogun a day before Ifo market day.”

400 level OAU student commits suicide after being jilted by female lover

Here is an update of the 400 level OAU student who committed suicide (Read it HERE ).

Ige Dipo who reportedly committed suicide did so after he was jilted by his female lover.

Dipo, a member of Christ Apostolic Church fellowship on campus, is said to have ingested poisonous which led to his death.

The woman he was dating had been financing his education before she allegedly broke up with him due to his poor background.

Sources with knowledge on the matter said Dipo who was usually a loner withdrew into his shell even more after being emotionally traumatized by the incident.

The above average student threatened to take his life should his ex-girlfriend not accept his overtures for reconciliation and eventually did take his own life after he was rebuffed.

Dipo’s suicide note left for his father reads in part: “Father, while reading this message, I would have been gone.”

21-year-old woman arraigned for allegedly kidnapping a month-old baby

A 21-year-old woman, Ronke Odelabi, of Kolara Area, Ogbomoso, Oyo State absconded with her neighbour's one-month-old baby to Ogbomoso where her parent-in-law reside just to deceive them that she had given birth to a baby.

The mother of the child, Funke Olowokere, resident of Oja-Oba area, Ilorin, said that, on Feb. 2, she gave her child (name withheld) to the accused, who was her co-tenant, while she was busy washing clothes
.
She said that when she finished washing, she discovered that Ronke had absconded with the child to unknown destination and all efforts to contact her through her phone number proved abortive.

President Olusegun Obasanjo said on Wednesday that he had no real record of his birthday.

Obasanjo disclosed this in Abeokuta while expressing gratitude to those who attended his 77th birthday ceremony;
“There are some people including me who do not know their exact birthday."
“My mother only told me that I was born on Ifo market day."
“According to her, in our village, she had prepared to go to Ifo market and Ifo market is every five days."
“She said as she was preparing, she fell into labour and before those who went to Ifo market returned, I was born."
“Don’t ask me what month or what year."
“Whether I know the exact date or not, I think God has made my path to be glorious,” he said.

BUSTED: Bride, 22, arrested in London while attempting to wed 4th Nigerian man

  

A 22 year old lady; Raquel Neto Furtado De Andrade who is in the habit of exchanging permanent residence in Britain with money by virtue of marriage has been arrested. She had already married three Nigerian men just to help them reside permanently in Britain while she collects cash in return.

Andrade got busted when she was trying to wed the fourth time and was caught by the police before she could tie the knot.

Driver remanded in prison for allegedly raping daughter

A 42-year-old commercial driver, Pedro Anegbe, who allegedly raped his 15-year-old daughter, was on Wednesday remanded at the Ikoyi Prison in Lagos.

Anegbe, who resides at No. 45, Ifelodun St., Fatolu in Ipaja, near Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of defiling and indecent assault at an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The Chief Magistrate, Miss S.O. Solebo, said that the accused should be kept behind bars, pending an advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The Prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu, told the court that the crime was committed on Jan. 27 at about 2.30 a.m.at Anegbe’s residence. 
“The accused, his wife and the victim live together in a room apartment. “The accused said that he heard a voice that he should have sexual intercourse with his daughter before he can be successful. “He forcefully slept with his daughter when she was six years old and his wife caught him but forgave him. “On the fateful day, he took the victim to his bedroom because his wife was not around and ordered her to pull-off her dress and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her. “The wife of the accused saw them and reported the case to the police." Nwosu said.

Two Men Docked For Stealing ‘Seventh Book Of Moses’

On Wednesday, two men David Ogundare and Ola Busari, aged 62 and 40 respectively, were docked at an Ota Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into a church and stealing a copy of ‘Seventh Book of Moses’ and other valuables. 

Ogundare and Busari, of no fixed addresses, are facing charges of stealing, conspiracy, breach of peace and malicious damages. 

The prosecutor, Inspector Mustapha Abdulkareem told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 17, 2013 at 5.05am at Igbesa in Ota, Ogun State.

Abdulkareem said that the accused broke into the Holy Temple Church of God, Jah Compound, Igbesa and stole the ‘Seventh Book of Moses’ and other valuables worth N660,000 belonging to one Deborah Obadiah.

US Freezes Sani Abacha Loot Of $458 Million

The United States today said it had ordered a freeze on $458 million in assets hidden in European accounts by former Nigerian dictator Sani Abacha and his conspirators. 

The Justice Department said the corruption proceeds stashed away in bank accounts in Britain, France and Jersey were frozen at Washington’s request with the help of local authorities. 

Abacha died in office in 1998, but his surviving relatives still include some of the richest and most influential figures in Nigeria. 

According to a civil forfeiture complaint unsealed in the US District Court in Washington, the department wants the recover more than $550 million in connection with the action.

Segun was at the hospital with Victor Osuagwu, Charles Inojie, Grace Amah, Abubakar Yakubu and other Nollywood stars to see the ailing actor.

At the hospital, Charles Inojie led a prayer session for the GAG President and wished him a quick recovery.

It was reliably gathered that Mensah was operated on for an ailment.

"Speak good English, you’re embarrassing us": Rivers APC warns lawmaker, Evans Bipi

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State have warned the Rivers legislator, Evans Bipi who happens to be a cousin to the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, and a staunch campaigner against the state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi to either speak good English, as expected of a legislator, or risk being recalled from the state assembly.

It was said that the lawmaker  had made series of embarrassing grammatical errors during a Channels TV interview on March 3.

The APC made its stance clear through a statement signed by Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the party’s interim chairman, Bisi Akande.

The statement reads:

“We watched with sadness the great embarrassment brought to Rivers State and its people by Hon. Evans Bipi, the self-acclaimed rebel speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. Apart from conducting himself as a glorified tout, Hon. Bipi can hardly make a single correct sentence.

Lagos Court Jail Prostitutes For Loitering

     
Two sex workers namely;  Blessing Esu, 28, and Rita Ume, 36 were sentenced to three months imprisonment each for loitering and disorderly conduct.

It was reported that the women had pleaded guilty to the charges of loitering and behaving in a disorderly or indecent manner in public place.

Judgement was passed on them on Wednesday in Tinubu Magistrates' Court in Lagos before Magistrate Tokunbo Omoyele who did not give the sex workers an option of fine but rather said that the court had no option than to sentence them since they had admitted committing the offences.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Daniel Ighodalo, told the court that the two women committed the offences on March 1 at 2.30 a.m. on Victoria Island, Lagos.

He said the offences contravened Sections 166 (a) (i) and (ii) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Court adjourns Femi Fani-Kayode’s trial

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, standing trial on charges of money laundering is to be arraigned on March 6.

He is to be arraigned before Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court, Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ofili-Ajumogobia on Feb. 10, upheld the submission of Mr Festus Keyamo, the Prosecuting Counsel.

Keyamo had filed an application, seeking court’s permission to re-arraign Fani-Kayode on a fresh 40-count charge of money laundering.  But the Defence Counsel, Mr Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), while opposing Keyamo’s application, said the court lacked competence to entertain the matter because the prosecution failed to disclose sources of the alleged laundered monies.

Man, 23, Remanded For Chopping Off Woman’s Finger (Ring Finger)

Mrs. Ogochukwu Aronwu will forever remember the sad event which led to the loss of her finger (fourth finger of her left hand)which was completely chopped off from her hand by a 23-year-old labourer, Isaac John.

Isaac John who was armed with a knife and other dangerous weapons was alleged to have robbed Mrs. Ogochukwu of her hand bag containing some money and headtie on February 14, 2014 at about 7:50 p.m along Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Ikeja area of Lagos state.  (So the best way to forcefully collect her hand bag is to chop off her finger eh kwa!!)

Another Sack: Jonathan Sacks Sports Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi

Nigeria’s Youth and Sports Minister, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi who is away to attend the International Weightlifting Federation Championship holding in Poland, was sacked Wednesday by Jonathan .

Dr Tamuno Danagogo, one of the 11 newly sworn in ministers was asked to take over from the sacked minister.

No reason was given for the sack of the minister.

Fuji musician Obesere Has Been Arrested For Raping A Polytechnic Graduate And Inserting A Ring Into Her Private Part

Popular Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 29-year-old business woman, Miss Olanike Olaiya in his Okota residence, Lagos.

Obesere was first arrested last Wednesday by the Police at Isolo Police Division, where Olaiya reported the matter. He was subsequently released on administrative bail, only to be re-arrested on Monday, when medical examination conducted on Olaiya revealed that she was actually raped.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim Nike Olaiya, in a statement said she got to know Obesere through one of her friends, Mrs Bola Okoro. “She told me that Obesere would assist me in my business.

I deal in office equipment and when I contacted Obesere, he asked me to meet him in his family house at Okota. When I met him, I introduced my business to him and he promised to connect me to some of his friends in Dubai who would sell goods to me on credit. After the discussion, he started demanding for sex and I refused and when I wanted to leave, he insisted I should sleep over in his house because it was late and he claimed that it was dangerous to go out late in the night in his area.”

Pastor in police net for conducting virginity test on member with his finger

A 34-year-old pastor, simply identified as Adekunle Kayode, is currently cooling his heels at the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly conducting virginity test on a 20-year-old female member of his church in Abeokuta with his finger.

Kayode, who oversees the Jesus Is The Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, was reportedly arrested by detectives attached to Kemta Division in his house, 3, Okeyidi Street, Abeokuta.

The State’s PPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said the ‘preacher’ was nabbed after the victim narrated her ordeal to her father who later informed the police of the shocking incident. It was gathered that the man of God was caught in the act in the church while he tried to confirm the girl’s virginity status.

According to the PPRO;

 “There was also a drama when the victim received the ‘holy spirit’ which propelled her to reveal the misdeeds of the pastor who has indulged in this ungodly act for years."

A 12-year-old schoolboy who raped his seven-year-old sister after he watched hardcore porn on the internet has walked free from court. Social workers will now work with the youngster to return him to the family home in the coming months.

Blackburn Youth Court heard the boy had viewed pornography in the company of his friends before he gained "a desire to try it out".

He committed a number of sexual offences against his sister between March and May last year but the matters did not come to light until last autumn.

Court Frees Brymo From The Bondage Of Chocolate City

Justice Buba I.N. of a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi , Lagos has ruled that the injunction filed against estranged Chocolate City artiste, Brymo, by the label, be lifted.

Chocolate City, as the music label had gone to court to stop Brymo from releasing any music material or performing at any event until his present contract with the label expires in 2016. 

Justice Buba ruled that, “since the plaintiff (Chocolate City) can be compensated at a later date, the defendant is free to carry out his duties as a singer so that none of the parties will be at a disadvantage.”

Brymo was in court today with his father and girlfriend.

Meanwhile, Justice Buba has adjourned the case to March 19, 2014.

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the sack of two judges of the high court. This information was relayed to newsmen in Abuja by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, after a meeting with the President.

The affected judges are Justice Gladys Olotu and Justice Ufot Inyang who were recommended for sack by the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC) over alleged gross misconduct.

A statement signed by the NJC’s Acting Director of Information, also confirmed the decision to sack the judges.“The National Judicial Council has in the exercise of its disciplinary powers under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, suspended the two judges from office with immediate effect.” 

According to the statement, three other judges were issued with warning letters by the NJC on account of declining productivity. They are Justice Dalhatu Adamu, Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Kaduna Division; Justice A.A. Adeleye of the Ekiti High Court; and Justice D.O. Amaechina of Anambra High Court.
