Another stampede looms, as applicants besiege National Hospital over automatic Immigration jobs offer

You got to be kidding me! This is the funniest i have heard in a while. Just because Jonathan promised automatic employment to the injured who sustained injury during the immigration stampede, all unemployed youths are now injured! Lmao!!

Barley 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan announced automatic employment for injured applicants during the just concluded recruitment exercise of the Nigeria Immigration Service; no fewer than 200 applicants have reportedly stormed the National Hospital, Abuja, seeking to be registered as beneficiaries in the presidential munificence.

According to Leadership, applicants had been trooping into the National Hospital, claiming that they had treated themselves at certain private hospitals after the Saturday’s stampede.

Comedian Saka’s Office Razed Down By Fire

 

Actor/Comedian/Lecturer Hafiz Oyetoro popularly known as Saka was a victim of a fire incident which happened in the Theatre Arts Department of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) Otto Awori, in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State where he lectures.

The incident which occurred this morning led to the loss of some of his valuables in his office which includes all his awards and important documents. While speaking to journalists this morning, he said;
“I also lost my promotion letter, most painful was the fact that I was to submit some important documents for some international engagements but now this may not happen as the documents have also been lost to the inferno,”

The response by the fire service was not quick enough and that led to the building razed down as they could hardly salvage anything from the fire.

Kidnapped Wazobia FM Presenter Akas Baba Released

The kidnapped Wazobia FM presenter known as Akas Baba who was shot and kidnapped from his Rumuekini residence on Thursday March 13th was released early hours of today to reunite with his family once again.

To an extent, "Nwenne" Duncan Mighty and his other Rivers brothers contributed to this release. He is presently receiving treatment.

Man Whose Scrotum Swelled To 45kg Dies.

The man who gained world fame after going public with a medical condition that made his scrotum swell to 45 kilograms has died, doctors said.

Wesley Warren Jr passed away on Friday after being taken to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment after he endured problems related to his diabetes, according to his friend JoeyHurtado.

“He was in the hospital for five-and-a-half weeks,” Hurtado told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
“He had infections that I think were brought on by his diabetes and then he had those heart attacks.”

Army Officer Shoots Worker Dead At Dangote Cement Factory

 

A worker of Dangote Cement Factory in Gboko, Benue State was shot dead by an angry soldier for 
allegedly stealing a spare tyre.

The incident has triggered a riot with shelling of gunfire.  An eyewitness said he saw two dead bodies and one seriously injured victim. 

The Cement Factory is now locked down with stranded members of staff who were trapped inside.

Update On Pastor Who Used Machete On His Wife For Missing Church Programme

This is an update of a report made here late last year of a pastor who used machete to brutally cut his wife over failure to attend church.

On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, before the Chief Magistrate's Court in Owode Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Pastor Samuel Daniel was remanded in prison for using a machete on his wife, Patience Samuel (pictured above).

He was arraigned on a two-count charge of assault and providing false information, which is punishable under Sections 338 and 192 criminal code Vol 1 law of Ogun State, 2006.

The accused, who was a Pastor with an Apostolic Church in Ode Remo area of the state, reportedly went to his wife’s place of work at Itori village in Owode-Egba on December 10, 2013 and used the machete on her for abandoning church programmes.

Drunk Couple Caught Having SEX In Broad Daylight

A couple were caught having sex in broad daylight near two dumpsters in Delaware, USA. 

The couple may have been drunk while performing the act as they were oblivious to the crowd laughing and recording the incident. 

Reports say the police are searching for the couple in the photos.

President Jonathan Cancels Immigration Exams & Offers Automatic Employment To Victims Families

President Goodluck Jonathan, today, gave a directive at the Federal Executive Council meeting of the immediate cancellation of the controversial immigration recruitment exercise that left 18 families to mourn their relatives.

He further directed that all those families who lost their loved ones would have automatic slot for three applicants from each family and that one of the three must be a woman.

The President also directed that immediate/automatic employment be offered to injured applicants.

Disclosing this after the Federal Executive Council meeting that held this morning, Minister of Information Labaran Maku said President Jonathan directed that one of the three beneficiaries must be female;

Female Paedophile, 21 Jailed For Having Had Sex With An Eight-Year-Old Boy More Than 50 times

21-Year-Old Loren Morris (pictured above) has been jailed for having sex with an eight-year-old boy more than fifty times.

Loren Morris who was 16 when she first slept with the schoolboy had regular intercourse with the boy and did away with it, not until now he is 14 and was overheard bragging about it in school with his classmates. Morris who has a child of her own was today, sentenced to a two-year prison sentence at Worcester Crown Court, following a trial last month where she was convicted of three counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 16.

She could be seen smiling and smoking outside the court today as she awaited her sentence. The judge in the case told Morris that he would be lenient with the sentence which will see her released from jail after one year because she 'realised it was wrong' and stopped having sex with the boy.

Fire Guts Christ Embassy Headquarters

Yesterday, Tuesday, 18th March, 2014, properties worth millions of Naira were consumed by fire from the generator house to the main church auditorium of Christ Embassy Church which is located on Billings Way, Ikeja, Lagos. 

The fire started at 6.30pm from the generator house following a power surge from one of the generating sets.

Sources said that immediately the church members noticed the fire, they tried putting it off with their in-house extinguishers. However, the fire escalated and spread to the church main auditorium.

General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke Osanyintolu and Director of Fire Service, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, said that the fire raged for about three hours before it was finally put out by the combined team of the emergency agencies at the scene.

Update On The Fire Outbreak In Mobil Petrol Station, Ikeja

I had earlier reported of a massive fire outbreak that occurred this early morning in the Mobil Petrol Station along Oba Akran in Ikeja, Lagos State.

The public information officer of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed the incident saying the fire started at about 6:30 a.m this morning when a tanker loaded with 33, 000 litres of premium motor spirit (pms) was trying to enter the filling station in the midst of vehicles on queue.

In a bid to squeeze and maneuver its way in, the tanker got punctured by an iron which led to the pms gushing out and the fire outbreak followed.

According to Farinloye, “two cars, two buses, including a commercial bus and one SUV were burnt down completely.”

The fire was put off at about 8 a.m with six fire fighting tankers from the fire service.

19 Redeemed Church Members Burnt In Accident On Their Way Back From A Church Programme In Lagos

Monday, March 17, 2014 will always be a day to remember for some Redeemed church members who lost their friends and families who were burnt beyond recognition on their way back from Lagos where they went for a church programme..

This sad incident happened along the Potiskum-Maiduguri highway in Borno State as three vehicles collided and caught fire, one of the vehicles conveyed the 19 Redeemed church members who were burnt beyond recognition while the other two vehicles were conveying people from a wedding.

Court Remands Pastor In Prison Over N52.3m Fraud

On Tuesday, an Ikeja High Court remanded a 52-year-old Pastor, Peter Nwogu in prison for allegedly defrauding some accommodation seekers of N52.3 million.

Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya remanded Nwogu in Kirikiri Maximum Prisons after his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The accused had not filed his application for bail when the case came up.

Nwogu, who lives at Plot 1697 Karamu Rotimi St., Victoria Island, Lagos, is facing a seven-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretences.

Zimbabwe: Kwekwe Man Finds Goats Having Sex, Beats Up Male One, Rapes Female One

As reported by MyZimbabwe, Fortune Moyo, a 23-year-old herdman at Wichlia Farm in Kwekwe, was last Friday convicted on his own plea of guilty to bestiality when he appeared before magistrate Letwin Rwoodzi.

The court heard that Moyo, a widower, was caught pants down being intimate with a she-goat on March 11 after he got sexually aroused on seeing the animals mating. 

Moyo, who claimed to have been possessed by evil spirits, chased away the he-goat and took over its role before he was caught in the act by another herdman identified as Panashe Mutorindo.

Mutorindo reported the matter to the owner Berinos Sadauchi, who in turn made it a police case, leading to Moyo’s arrest. The court remanded him in custody to March 17 for sentence.

Man Rapes 8-Year-Old Boy In Jigawa

The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, says it has arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly raping an eight year old boy in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.

The Commander, Mr. Muhammad Gidado, disclosed this yesterday. He said that the suspect was arrested in the Jigawa Tsada quarters of Dutse town on Sunday following intelligence report. He said that the suspect allegedly lured the boy into his room and committed the offence.

Gidado added that a medical report by Rashidi Shekoni Specialist Hospital, Dutse, had confirmed that the boy was raped.

He said that the suspect confessed to have committed the offence with the boy on previous occasions, and that he lured the child with N20 each time. Gidado said that the suspect would be charged to court.

February 20 was no doubt one of the saddest days for the family of Mr Fred Awogbo. Their son, 18-year-old Godwin Awogbo, a 300 level student of University of Cape Coast in Central region, Ghana, studying Social Science was brutally killed. His body had been found with some his internal organs gorged out, with his hands and legs tied.

Godwin Awogbo’s lifeless body was reportedly found on the school campus. For days, everyone seemed to be clueless about what could have prompted such a brutal death. While the thoughts of Godwin being a cultist came to the minds of many, his friends, however, were quick to assert that Godwin was a cool-headed person with no such connection.

3 Year Old Tells Her Experience Of How Her Daddy's Friend Shot Him To Death

In the Nooks and Cranny of Lagos State, a 28-year-old suspect, Adigun Oriyomi also known as Muda is being looked for by the police for allegedly shooting and killing his 32-year-old friend, Oluwafemi Adekeye while his 3-year-old daughter watched.

This incident occurred in the Ipaja environs of Lagos State. The suspect is said to have gunned down Adekeye despite pleas from his 3-year-old daughter.

The little girl said:

“I saw Ife’s daddy (Oriyomi) in our house and he pointed a gun at my daddy and I was begging him not to kill my daddy, but he (Adigun) shot my daddy and ran away.”
