Amma's Diary; Episode 1: Post Nysc Experience
Hello Everyone, welcome to the first episode of my diary... Amma's diary.
Introduction: Amma's diary is all about my personal life experiences, day to day activities; trilling, adventurous and happy moments of Amaka Nwachukwu.
Sit and enjoy my diary post... Come rock my world!!
EPISODE 1
–POST-NYSC EXPERIENCE
After a year’s nation call (NYSC)
and dedicated service of having served my father land; Nigeria, it was a
bitter-sweet experience to be back home to my family. After all, family over
everything. I just dey feel myself as per, expired corp member who must have
been missed in the home after a year of service in one strange village in Oyo
State, Nigeria. It was sweet in the sense that the trauma of seeing my Yoruba
students with over 15 tribal marks on one face; diagonally, vertically,
horizontally and diaverthorizon was over! The thoughts of going to the market
once a week and eating stale food that will be on heat minimum 2 times a day X
7 days was also over… Omo, ko easy o! Worse of all, the annoying sound of my
name from the mouth of indigenes in that village! It was so bad that I had to
doubt the meaning of my name which I had borne for over 20 years before then.
Some called me Emehka. Others, Amake and the rest Emeke or “omo ibo”. Kai! These Yoruba fellas can make someone
regret his name o! What is difficult in pronouncing “Amaka”. Shebi if I had
told them my full is Uzoamaka, perhaps, they would pronounce it as what?
Ozeomohka. Smh!
Now, to the other part. I know it is like a home-sweet tradition for a long missed fellow to be celebrated on her return. Mum giving me options for meal, boiling water for me to have my bath, younger ones all around me to run errands for “free”, folks calling for morning and night prayers and thanking God for me, everyone remembering one past incident which happened in my absence and telling me the stories. Well, it is normal to feel comfortable but I bet you, that wouldn’t last for a long time so I told myself; “Ama baby! Don’t feel too comfy with this o, once another long missed fellow comes after your return, you will be treated as normal just as the word “normal” sounds”.

Meet the Woman with the World's Biggest Hands
59-year-old
Duangjay Samaksamam from Thailand is said to be the woman with the biggest hands ever! Having suffered from a rare medical condition "macrodystrophia lipomastosa" which leaves her limbs permanently swollen, she was deprived of a western education because she was ashamed of her condition and lived the first 20 years of her life as a recluse. Duangjay is also said to be the only in this world to experience the rare condition from shoulder to fingers on both hands. According to plastic surgeon; Dr Eiju Uchinuma:
"This case is very rare. Both her arms are enlarged. Her arms and hands
are enormous so they swell badly but it could be worse. My diagnosis is
that she is the first and only person in the world who has
Macrodystrophia Lipomatosa from shoulders to her fingers on both arms."
"The cause of the disease is unknown and is therefore incurable."
Duangjay who decided to live the rest of her life indoor as a result of the embarrassment she faced was forced to come out of hiding at the age of 20 to earn a living in order to care for her elderly parents, and take over running the family grocery shop. She said;
" My hands are so heavy I can barely lift them to comb or shampoo my hair, it's very difficult. Getting dressed is also very difficult and painful.
More photos after the cut...
"Some doctors said the only solution was to cut off my hands if I wished to walk around freely. But I don't want to do that.'They removed about 700 grams of fat and blood out of my hands but after a month it just grew back"

Trades And Wishes Could Be Unfavourable
The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman. He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, awakened his kids, set out their school clothes, fed them breakfast, packed their lunches, drove them to school, came home, picked up the dry cleaning, took it to the cleaners and stopped at the bank to draw money to pay the electricity and telephone bills.
He drove to the electricity company and the phone company and paid the bills, went grocery shopping, came home and put away the groceries. He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog. By then it was already 1:00 pm, so he hurried to make the beds, do the laundry, vacuum dust, sweep and mop the kitchen floor.
He rushed to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home which he had to sort out in a gentle 'motherly' fashion. He set out cookies and milk and got the kids organised to do their homework, then set up the ironing board and was able to watch a bit of TV while he did the ironing. By then it was 4:30pm, so he began peeling potatoes and washed greens for salads. He prepared the chops and fresh vegetables and got everything ready in time for an early dinner.
After supper, he cleaned the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, folded laundry, bathed the kids, and put them to bed.
At 9:00 pm he was exhausted and although his chores weren't finished for the day, he went to bed where he was expected to make love, which he managed to get through without complaining. The next morning he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said; "Lord, I don't know what I was thinking. I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day. Please, O please, let us trade back!"
The lord in his infinite wisdom, replied; "My son, I feel you have learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were. You'll just have to wait 9 months though, because you got pregnant last night!"
Learn your lessons, be contented with whatever you have and try not to be envious or make silly wishes...
Amma's diary would be coming up soon right here... The story of my adult life... #watchout#
Be Careful, A Kid Could Pick It Up
After spanking the kids, she then walked away. The older of the two in a bid to console the younger said; "Don't mind her, let her go with it after all we've drank all the milk."
Caution...
HELP FROM THE UNEXPECTED!!
It was about eight o’clock p.m when her son who was asthmatic developed some
complications. He had to be rushed to the nearest hospital about 1km away or
else it would be fatal. She called a neighbor who had a car but the neighbor
said the car had no fuel;she called the pastor, who said he had visiting
pastors from USA and could not leave them alone. She decided to carry the son
to the hospital; she could not imagine loosing her only child with the same
sickness that a few months earlier had killed the husband. She had a problem
with her leg and could not move fast enough and the son was also heavy for her
to move faster.
Along the way she met people rushing home from work who just
starred at her. She tried to beg them for help but they ignored her. She also
tried to stop passing vehicles but they never responded. She fell many times
but she had to keep moving. Then a man who was mad and used to roam the streets
naked noticed her. He came running towards her and took the son from her. She
could not talk but just pointed the direction of the hospital. The crazy naked
man could understand perfectly well what she meant since he saw the desperate
boy struggling for breath.
He put him on the shoulder and told the woman “all
will be well” as he ran towards the hospital. The doctors on seeing the crazy
man knew something was really wrong and attended to the boy immediately. Ten
minutes later the mother arrived and the doctor broke the news “if he was brought
five minutes later than that he would have died” The mad man is long dead and
the woman too died some years back but the boy now a man today owns one of the
biggest private hospitals. The hospital offers free asthma treatments.
God
doesn’t have to use Bishops, Pastors, politicians and rich people with cars, to
rescue or bless you. No matter what may come your way, no matter what you are
going through, your life is in his hands and I know you will make it. For
there’s a friend in God who will wipe away your tears.
Have a beautiful day ahead! *much love*

The Queen Of England Has Worn This Shoe For 50 Years And Still Counting
88-years-old Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II still rocks her classic black shoe which she purchased for £1,000 (approximately) when she was about 38-year-old. Wearing the same shoe over and over for years would definitely not favour the heels so all she does is re-heel the sole/heel whenever it wears out. *i can imagine*.
According to reports, she initially started out with a brown pair in 1969,but
switched to black and hasn't worn any other shoe since then. See more photos of the shoe at occasions attended by the Queen...
