Pastor in police net for conducting virginity test on member with his finger

A 34-year-old pastor, simply identified as Adekunle Kayode, is currently cooling his heels at the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly conducting virginity test on a 20-year-old female member of his church in Abeokuta with his finger.

Kayode, who oversees the Jesus Is The Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, was reportedly arrested by detectives attached to Kemta Division in his house, 3, Okeyidi Street, Abeokuta.

The State’s PPRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said the ‘preacher’ was nabbed after the victim narrated her ordeal to her father who later informed the police of the shocking incident. It was gathered that the man of God was caught in the act in the church while he tried to confirm the girl’s virginity status.

According to the PPRO;

 “There was also a drama when the victim received the ‘holy spirit’ which propelled her to reveal the misdeeds of the pastor who has indulged in this ungodly act for years." 

Boy Who Raped 7-Year-Old Sister After Watching Hardcore Porn Walks Free From Court (A Must Read)

A 12-year-old schoolboy who raped his seven-year-old sister after he watched hardcore porn on the internet has walked free from court. Social workers will now work with the youngster to return him to the family home in the coming months.

Blackburn Youth Court heard the boy had viewed pornography in the company of his friends before he gained "a desire to try it out".

He committed a number of sexual offences against his sister between March and May last year but the matters did not come to light until last autumn.

How Boko Haram Members Burnt 11 Villagers To Death In Jakana

Eleven villagers were said to have been burnt to death by the rampaging Boko Haram sect yesterday in the small village of Jakana.

It was gathered that the Boko Haram sect members had warned the villagers of the impending attack. The eleven villagers however were burnt to death in what can be seen as a punishment for an affront on the sect members who had earlier warned of their impending destruction of the village.

Court Frees Brymo From The Bondage Of Chocolate City

Justice Buba I.N. of a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi , Lagos has ruled that the injunction filed against estranged Chocolate City artiste, Brymo, by the label, be lifted.

Chocolate City, as the music label had gone to court to stop Brymo from releasing any music material or performing at any event until his present contract with the label expires in 2016. 

Justice Buba ruled that, “since the plaintiff (Chocolate City) can be compensated at a later date, the defendant is free to carry out his duties as a singer so that none of the parties will be at a disadvantage.”

Brymo was in court today with his father and girlfriend.

Meanwhile, Justice Buba has adjourned the case to March 19, 2014.

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the sack of two judges of the high court. This information was relayed to newsmen in Abuja by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, after a meeting with the President.

The affected judges are Justice Gladys Olotu and Justice Ufot Inyang who were recommended for sack by the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC) over alleged gross misconduct.

A statement signed by the NJC’s Acting Director of Information, also confirmed the decision to sack the judges.“The National Judicial Council has in the exercise of its disciplinary powers under the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, suspended the two judges from office with immediate effect.” 

According to the statement, three other judges were issued with warning letters by the NJC on account of declining productivity. They are Justice Dalhatu Adamu, Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Kaduna Division; Justice A.A. Adeleye of the Ekiti High Court; and Justice D.O. Amaechina of Anambra High Court.

Tragedy: 400-Level Student Of OAU, Ile-Ife Commits Suicide

Pictured above is a 400-level student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-ife named Dipo Ige who committed suicide yesterday. Reports have it that Dipo committed suicide owing  to depression he was alleged to be suffering from.

He lived in an area close to the campus called ‘Asherifa’. It was gathered that before his death, the deceased wore a ‘lonely’ look and had an unpleasant attitude during lectures.

Rumours have it that Dipo’s resolve to kill himself is connected with too many ‘F’s (academic failure). He was found dead in his room. He reportedly sent a letter to his parents before the act.

26 Year-Old restaurant supervisor, Cassie Turton from King's Lynn, Norton who had wanted to start a family was in a seven-month romance with boyfriend, Michael Fysh. Cassie got pregnant for her partner and when she disclosed same to him, he opted for an abortion which was against Cassie's decision. 

Cassie took an overdose of over-the-counter medicine hours after Michael dissolved their seven-month romance. In attempt to convince Michael to keep the baby, she slashed her wrists and then sent the images to Michael's phone in a cry for help. Funny enough, Michael who was not willing to offer such help then raised the alarm by forwarding the pictures to Cassie's mother; Sandra Hammond-Grant who immediately rushed to her flat to find her being helped by a neighbour.

8-year-old boy burgles neighbour’s apartment, sells stolen goods for N70

Residents of  Umuezu, Ndegwu in Owerri West local government area of Imo State were stunned last Thursday from the actions of an eight-year-old boy, Obiefule Odigwe, allegedly broke into the home of  his grandmother’s next door neighbour and stole some household appliances.

According to reports, Odigwe a primary three pupil at Ndegwu Primary School was reported to have sold the appliances he sold at N70.

It was gathered from residents of the community that Odigwe gained access into the victim’s home through a door which separated his grandmother’s room from the tenant’s.

The boy’s grandmother is the landlady of the house.

Female Hostel In FGGC Umuahia Razed By Fire

Sunday, March 2,2014 is a day not to be easily forgotten by some female students in Federal Government Girls College Umuahia as a girls' hostel in the said school housing about 119 students was razed by fire. It was gathered that the fire incident occurred at about 8.30pm on Sunday while the students were in their classrooms observing their night prep. Therefore, no life was lost.

It was the second fire incident in the school in less than three months. On December 9, 2013 the school had lost a hostel housing 79 students four days before the end of the school session. 

Acting principal of the school, Mr. Ernest Chukwuka lamented the fire incident just as the school was putting finishing touches to the hostel which was burnt last December. 

The timely intervention of the state fire service reportedly prevented the fire from spreading to other hostels.

Tragic Mistake: Brother Killed His 8-Year-Old Brother With A Loaded Gun Which He Mistook For A BB Gun

An 8-year-old boy identified as Sammy Lorenzo, was fatally shot in the chest on Saturday, March 1, 2014 when he and his brothers mistook a loaded gun for a BB gun.

The boys had been visiting their uncle in the city’s Price Hill neighborhood when the incident occurred. They allegedly found the gun and one pulled the trigger, striking the deceased in the chest, according to the Cincinnati police.

The boy was reportedly taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and rushed into surgery, but later died.

It was learnt that Cincinnati homicide detectives are investigating the incident, but no charge is expected to be made against the children.

Adedoja Lateef, 49 Remanded For Rape Of 11-Yr-Old Minor

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded a 49-year-old man Adedoja Lateef, in prison custody for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl.

Prosecutor Wilson Mereti told the court that the accused committed the offence on February 21, at Ologini village, Ifetedo. Mereti said the accused, who lives in the same neighbourhood with the victim, lured her to his room on the pretext of sending her for an errand.

He said after getting her into his room, he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her without her consent. The prosecutor said problems began after the girl reported the incident to her mother.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Mr Adebayo Lasisi, the Chief Magistrate, ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and directed his counsel, Mrs Bose Dada, to file a formal bail application

Lasisi adjourned the case to April 2 for mention.

Dangote climbs Forbes ranking, now 23rd richest man in the World

 

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group has been named the 23rd richest man in the World by Forbes magazine. His networth was placed at $25 billion as of March 2014.

According to Bloomberg Billionaire Index, the cement, sugar and power magnate made $791 million in the last 24 hours.

Other Nigerians on the list include Mike Adenuga who came in at #325 with a networth of $4.6 billion, Folorunsho Alakija, owner of Famfa Oil who came in at #687 with a networth of $2.5 billion, and Abdulsamad Rabiu who came in at #1372 with a networth of $1.2 billion.

Dangote continues to climb the ranking, he was #43 in last year’s ranking.

Chairman of Microsoft, Bill Gates is the richest man in the world with a networth of $76 billion, he made over $9 billion in 2013.

Nollywood Actor, Chidi Mokeme in a recent interview with Yes! Magazine explained why him and his wife, Jean have been living apart/separately since they wedded in April 28, 2012. Jean has remained in her US base while Chidi Mokeme still resides in Nigeria. He said;

“Well, when I met my wife, this was our default setting. Let me put it like that. Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Bauchi Legislator

The Bauchi State Police Command on Tuesday confirmed the kidnap of Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu, a member of the state House of Assembly, by unknown gunmen.

The Spokesman of the command, Mr Haruna Mohammed, told newsmen in Bauchi that Nuhu, who represents Lame constituency in the House, was abducted on Monday night in Zalau village.

Mohammed said that a police patrol team pursued the kidnappers into a forest on the boundary between Bauchi and Kaduna states. He said that the kidnappers abandoned their car when they realised they were being pursued by the police and took Nuhu into the forest.

Lagos State Officials Forcibly Took N10,000 As “Income Tax” From A 5-Year Old Boy

Governor Babatunde Fashola led by Lagos State government has taxed a 5-year old boy Ifezue Chimdindu Chukwueloka. The boy was forced to pay income tax of N10,000 even though he doesn’t have a job or income of any kind.

Parents of a little boy stated that tax officials from the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service  stormed their home in Isolo area of Lagos and insisted Chimdindu must pay income tax.

Gunmen kill 3 policemen in Katsina

Gunmen on Monday shot dead three policemen in Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State. The incident occurred at the border area between Kano and Katsina in Gidan-mutum-daya town.

The eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said that gunmen arrived at about 11a.m. on a motorcycle and opened fire on the policemen at the checkpoint.According to him, one policeman was killed on the spot, while the remaining policemen run into the bush.

The eyewitness said another set of gunmen in another vehicle pursued the fleeing policemen and killed two of them.

Boko Haram On Rampage Yet Again, Slaughters 65

Boko Haram insurgents have again murdered about 65 persons at a village in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State yesterday.

This is the latest in a wave of attacks that have been carried out by the militant sect in the last couple of days.

Monday’s attack is coming barely 24 hours after the group launched a similar attack in Ngomari Ward in Jere and Mainok town in Konduga Local Government Area of the state.

More than 130 people have died within a week from such attacks.

God help this Nation Nigeria.
