Pres. Jonathan’s Daughter Releases Pre-Wedding Photos

Adopted daughter of President Goodluck Jonathan, Faith Sakwe Elizabeth, will be getting married to her fiance, Godswill Edward Osim, on April 5, 2014, in Bayelsa and on April 12 in Abuja.

Faith was adopted by the first family at an early age and she is their first child.

Ailing Singer, Zara Gretti Dies In the US

Musician, Zara Gretti, is dead. The ‘Abokoku’ singer had been suffering from multiple sclerosis and was receiving treatment in the US.

She reportedly died this morning after putting up a tweet; “I love and hate my life,”

The disease is said to be incurable and other Nigerian musicians made efforts to raise funds for Zara’s treatment.  May her soul rest in peace.

Woman Slashed Own Throat After Heartbreak Of Daughter's Death

Sobia Yousef, 36, is said to have killed herself in front of horrified shoppers, taking a blade from the supermarket’s shelves and plunging it into her neck. Friends said she had been driven to despair and had been given psychiatric treatment after the death of her nine-year-old, Mehwesh Mahmood.

When the girl lost her battle on October 23 with a heart defect she had struggled with from birth, Sobia told her family: “Life is not worth living.” Yet despite refusing to eat or drink and not taking her medication, social services in Bradford, West Yorks, and psychiatric experts would not section her.

75-Year-Old Man Dies After Having Sex With A Married Woman In Benin

On Wednesday, in the Government Reservation Area of Benin City, Edo State, a 75-year-old man identified as Elder David, slumped and died in his hotel room at about 1pm after several bouts of sex with an alleged married woman.

According to one of sons of the deceased, Elder David left home 45 minutes before the tragic incident;
“We were called by the police to come to the Benin Central Hospital, only to see my father’s corpse. When we enquired, the doctors on duty said my father was brought stone-dead to the hospital.”

The woman was also present at the hospital but policemen ferried her away to prevent the mob from getting the better of her.  The corpse was deposited at the Central Hospital mortuary.

The Edo state Police image-maker, DSP Moses Equavoen, when contacted yesterday, said the command is yet to be briefed on the incident.

World’s Shortest Man Meets World’s Shortest Woman For The First Time

Record holders in the Guinness World Records book rarely meet themselves in reality but recently, in India, the world’s shortest man and the world’s shortest woman met for the first time.

Pictured above is 72-year-old Nepalese man, Dangi who stands at a height of 21.5 inches and 18-year-old Nagpur, India woman, Amge measuring 24.7 inches.

However, an exception was made when the world’s shortest man, Chandra Bahadur Dangi, met the world’s shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, as part of a promotion for the 2013 edition of Guinness World Records.

Matthew Whelan who has changed his name to "The King of Inkland" and is regarded as Britain's most tattooed man has spent £6,000 to take some tattoos off his body because he wants to start all over again to tattoo himself but has run out of space (Like his body is filled with tattoo already! Chineke!!)

34-year-old Matthew Whelan who had his first tattoo (a British bulldog) at age 16 has spent £30,000 on tattoos. The former wrestler who is from Birmingham believes he looks out of date with his whole body filled with arts of snakes, scorpions, eyeballs and vampires. He also has one of his eyeballs tattooed black!

National Conference Sleeping Delegate, Hamma Misau Dies

 

Moments ago, we laughed and mocked him for collecting a huge sum just to go and sleep at the National Conference. Now, we mourn him. Retired police AIG Hamma Misau (pictured above) has slept on. He died last night at the National Hospital Abuja of an undisclosed illness. (Some say he died of Cyber Bully but will update you on this as soon as info comes up).

He was aged 67 and would be buried later today in his hometown in Bauchi State in accordance with Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace...

Church Robbery: Court Grants Suspects N100,000 Bail

Further to my post of last week of the robbery incident which occurred in Christ Apostolic Church in Alagbado, Lagos State, involving 15 armed robbers who robbed church members of the church during their night vigil at 2:20am, stealing about 40 mobile phones and money estimate of  N2 Million, the armed robbery suspects were on Thursday, arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s court and charged with eight counts of armed robbery.

The suspects are: the 31-year-old son of the traditional ruler of Ojokoro Community, Adeola Taiwo, Agozie Ordu, Amidu Shittu, David Bojuwola, Ismail Mufutau, Ahmed Akinola, Moruf Bello and Mutiu Adeosun.

It was gathered that the gang who are well known for their notorious operations went on to rob three other streets after robbing the church.

18-Year-Old Boy Spends $31,000 That Was Accidentally Deposited Into His Account

Friday, March 7, a Madison County man went into First Citizens Bank on U.S. Highway 29, Hull, and made a $31,000 deposit. Because there are several people by the same name with accounts at the bank, the teller put the money into the wrong account.

10 days after, March 17, the man called the bank to complain that his account had not yet been credited with the said sum ($31,000) he deposited into it. Investigation began and it was discovered that the money was deposited into the account of an 18--year-old Hull man who had already withdrawn $20,000 cash and spent $5,000 using his ATM card.

492 delegates who were drawn from all the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory of Abuja were in attendance at the much-awaited National Conference.  It should be recalled that the said delegates of the National Conference would be paid N1.45million after the one week sitting.

Now, what is the essence of the Conference? The true essence of this Conference is to deliberate on the problems which Nigeria is facing as a Nation and that is why the Nigerian budget for this conference was alloted in billions to pay these delegates and make them comfortable in Abuja (F.C.T.)

My annoyance is that most of these delegates are above 70-Years of age, not only would they receive a huge sum of N1.45Million for attendance, they got engaged in a sleeping competition like they would also be paid to sleep!  It is time Nigerian youths take over because as we were told back then in school that "We are the leaders of tomorrow", does it mean tomorrow is not here yet?!

Court Discharged And Acquitted Chidi Lloyd Of Attempted Murder

This country is very funny. While some were sentenced to prison for stealing biscuit, others were discharged and acquitted of attempted murder. Anyways, the Rivers State lawmaker; Chidi Lloyd who tried to kill his colleague by hitting him with a mace during the Rivers State Assembly mayhem in July 2013 has been discharged and acquitted by the Port-Harcourt High Court owing to the excuse that "the court could nothing in the matter because the police was not willing to prosecute the case".

It should be recalled that this same Rivers State Lawmaker was also alleged of the murder of one police sergeant; Urang Obadiah and one Kingsley Ejeuo when he crushed the sergeant with his car while pursuing Kingsley Ejeuo  whom he finally killed with his car.

Man Sentenced To 10 Months Imprisonment For Stealing Biscuits

On Thursday, sitting before Grade 1 Area Court, Karu, FCT, one Ola Omo, of Asokoro, Abuja was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment for stealing wine and biscuits.

It was gathered from the prosecutor in charge of the case, Mr. Philip Akogwa that the accused  broke into the shop of one Eniola Doherty. Akogwu, stole six bottles of different brands of wine and 10 packets of biscuits, all valued at N27,550. He further added that the offences were contrary to sections 248, 355 and 288 of the Penal Code.

The Presiding Officer, Mr Hassan Ishaq, however, gave the accused an option of N18, 000 fine for the offences of criminal trespass, house breaking and theft.

The accused pleaded guilty to the charges and begged the court for leniency. “Please have mercy on me sir, it is the work of the Devil,” he said.

Policeman Accused of Raping Four-year-old Girl in Plateau

A policeman attached to the Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis, Mr. Damudu Bzigu, has been accused of raping  a four-year-old girl in Kassa village of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He was said to have lured the minor to a STF makeshift tent in the village    where he allegedly raped her.
Confirming the incident to reporters yesterday in his office, the chairman of the local government area, Hon Emmanuel Loman, said: "The girl has been bleeding profusely and she is currently  receiving treatment at the Barkin Ladi General Hospital. It is sad that  some soldiers posted to restore law and order  have abandoned their duties for something else, otherwise what has restoring order got to do with defiling a minor.

Wife, Daughter Of Iyare Motors CEO Kidnapped In Benin

 

While on their way home on Tuesday, after the close of business, kidnappers abducted the wife and daughter of Chief Executive Officer of Iyare Motors; Abel Omoruyi. It was said that the incident which occurred in Ugbor area of Benin City, Edo State have been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, command DSP Moses Eguavoen who said that the victims were kidnapped by gunmen.

According to him, the police had since receiving the complaint swung into action in a bid to rescue her.
“We are doing everything to rescue the victims unhurt and to arrest the perpetrators,” said Eguavoen, adding that all black spots had been put under surveillance to block possible escape routes.

It was gathered that the abductors are yet to make contact with the family of the victims to make any demands.

Medical Doctor Reveals How A Cleric Took A Minor For Abortion

On Wednesday, before the High Court of Abuja, a medical doctor named Felix Ogunlade revealed to the court how a cleric of Mountain Mover Fire Ministry Church, Nyanya, Abuja; Apostle Basil Princewill brought in a 14-year-old rape victim to his hospital for abortion.

The medical practitioner told the court that he tried to question the victim but the accused was answering on her behalf.  He said:

 “I examined the victim and confirmed that she was pregnant."
“I discovered there was an active bleeding in the vagina and the mouth of the womb was opened with about 3 CM in diametre."

Actor Emeka Enyiocha Allegedly Fights Brother In Public

 

On Monday, March 24, at about 11:00pm, Popular Actor, Emeka Enyiocha was allegedly involved in a street fight with his younger brother, Maduabuchi on Modupe Johnson Street, Lagos. 

Emeka who had employed his brother to run his bar in his absence, fought his brother over mismanagement of funds in his bar. His brother was said to have employed another boy (Onyeka) to manage the bar.

Trouble however started when Emeka walked into the bar to confront the barman about certain sales he had made earlier in the day. 

Not satisfied with the explanation, Emeka allegedly pounced on the poor boy, beating him black and blue. 

His brother allegedly tried to save the poor boy but Emeka pursued him into the street with a long stick, caught up with him and head butted him, giving him a cut in the face and breaking his hand, leading to a heavy fight on the street.  

Residents of Modupe Johnson Street tried to intervene but Emeka, in anger called officers from Bode Thomas police station and had his brother and the barman arrested.  

They were locked up at the Bode Thomas police station for 24 hours and were released on Tuesday.

Texas Teacher Arrested For Performing Oral Sex On 15-Year-Old Boy

According to  Houston Chronicle, a Cypress Fairbanks ISD  middle school teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her students, according to Harris County court documents.

Corrie Anne Long, 43, was in Harris County court Monday morning to face charges of sexual assault of a child under the age of 17 and having an improper relationship with a student at Hopper Middle School in northwest Harris County.

The investigation started when a fellow student told Hopper Middle School staff that he saw Long and a male eighth grader, aged 15, engaging in horseplay he thought was odd, namely the student spanking Long's backside. The student also saw the teacher sitting in the male student's lap, according to court documents.

Bizarre Cemetery Restaurant Where Diners Sit With Dead People (A Must Read)

A restaurant called New Lucky Restaurant, located in Ahmadabad, India which was formerly a muslim cementary is said to have its customers dine with dead people after they built their business around an old graveyard.

The restaurant features tables scattered around real coffins (As pictured right above), around a dozen graves lay inside the restaurant, and have been sealed off by iron grills.

The owner Krishan Kutti says the graves are great for business as he reveals that the real coffins are key to his flourishing business.
"The graveyard brings good luck. Our business has been flourishing because of these graves. It gives people a unique experience."

"We have maintained the graves as they were. Our customers don't seem to mind."

Every morning, when the shutters of the restaurant are pulled up, waiters spend some time wiping the gravestones and decorating them with fresh flowers.

8-Year-Old Girl Kicked Out From Christian School For Having ‘Boyish’ Tendencies

The family of an 8-year-old girl from Timberlake Virginia, Sunnie Kahle, are not happy with a notice given them by her school principal, which says that Sunnie was no longer welcome because of her boyish tendencies.

The principal of Timberlake Christian School (TCS), wrote a letter to Sunnie’s grandparents, who are her guardians, saying, “TCS is not the best place for [Sunnie’s] future education,” because her dress and behavior were not feminine enough.

The letter emphasized that Sunnie, who sports jeans, sneakers and a short hair cut, could be denied continued enrollment in the school based on its principles.

Alleged Kidnapper Strips Naked To Avoid Arrest

According to Vanguard;

A woman alleged to have kidnapped a 10-year-old girl stripped herself to avoid arrest, yesterday, at the Ajegunle Police Division.  The woman, said to have identified herself as a serving Assistant Commissioner of Police, allegedly kidnapped the primary school pupil who was on her way to school, at Barra Street. 

Eyewitnesses said the attention of some passers-by was attracted following the pupil’s fruitless effort to free herself from Comfort’s grip.  

An eyewitness, who gave his name as Mr. Joseph Ogbonna, said:

Nigerian youths embark on protest at Fed Min. of Interior HQ

Some Nigerian youths took a bold step this afternoon, marched to the headquarter of the Federal Ministry of Interior, Abuja,  requesting to see the Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro but they were denied access.

The youths said they were there to protest the death of some of the applicants of the recently conducted NIS employment test. (When will all this nonsense stop??!!)

Boy shows his father photos of his mother in bed with another man

An 18-year-old marriage is in the process of dissolution as a young Zimbabwean boy who discovered nude pictures of his mother with another man on her cell phone showed the photos to his father,  Dumisani Ndebele.

His father who alleged that his wife had denied him sex for almost a year became furious and attacked his wife, Keziya Ndebele at their home in Pumula Bulawayo. He bit her on the cheeks and ripped a piece of her cheek out.

Keziya Ndebele denied the allegations that she was cheating on her husband. Instead, she said that her husband went crazy after he was served with divorce papers to end their 18 year marriage.

The woman, who appeared in front of judge Marylene Mtshina with bandages on her face, was granted an order of protection against her husband.

Islamic School Teacher Arrested For Raping 8-Year-Old Pupil In Lagos

A primary school teacher, Abdukadiri Olaitan, on Tuesday appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, charged with defilement of an eight-year-old girl.

Olaitan, 23, who resides at No. 1 Ajisegiri St, Ilupeju, Lagos, is standing trial on a charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor.

The Prosecutor, ASP Godwin Anyanwu told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 19, 2013, at his residence.

As the Oyo state government moves to acquire the land from owners of the Soka, Ibadan “forest of horror”, used by kidnappers to kill and house their victims.

The survivors have continued to narrate their ordeal and how they were captured by their captors.

Titi Adeniyi, 45, said: “I live at Awolowo compound in Oke Bola, Ibadan. I am not mad and I am not an old woman. Two months ago, I was in front of our house when some men grabbed me and said I was under arrest. Before I could protest, I was put in a bus and driven away. We did not go to any police station and I still don’t know how we reached the bush. I had N10,000 with me but they took it. I am 45 but in the few months I spent there, I aged quickly for lack of care. We were fed once in a week.”

Man Impregnates Elder Sister In Ajegunle, Lagos

A 24-year-old man has impregnated his elder sister, 25, in Ajegunle area of Lagos State.

Their father popularly known as Papa Akpan is a steward in Ikoyi area while his wife, Mama Akpan is a staff of a private company in Apapa where she works as a cleaner.

Sources said the parents usually leave their children, Akpan and Ime alone in their one-room apartment when going to work and the siblings are said to be fond of each other but nobody suspected an amorous relationship between them.

It was gathered that when their mother suspected that Ime was pregnant, she asked her but she denied one month later, it became obvious that Ime was pregnant and the woman had to tell her husband about the situation.

Pastor Docked Over Alleged N1.5m Fraud

Today, a 59-year-old pastor, Simeon Israel who is also a resident of Igando area of Lagos was charged to court for obtaining N1.5 million under the pretext of spiritually helping a woman to solve her marital problems.

Israel who appeared at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and stealing committed the offence with others who are still at large, at about 10:15 am on November, 04, 2013 along Igando Road, Lagos.

The prosecutor, ASP Eranus Nnamonu, said that Israel presented himself as a pastor being led spiritually to solve marital problems. He further said that Israel obtained N1.5 million from Alhaja Titilayo Aliyu, under the guise of solving her marital issues.

I do not want to believe that this is Nigerian's Ex-NAFDAC Director General; Mrs. Dors Akunyili. Well, she had been out of limelight and only made her ever first public appearance yesterday at the National Conference in Abuja after going through an undisclosed ailment that nearly claimed her life.

Mrs Akunyili confirmed to reporters that she just came out of a major illness but she was well now and just needed time to put on some weight.

This ailment must be so deadly to have made her loose several pounds off!! Get well soon Ma!

God Is Good Motors Sends Their Condolence Message To The Families Of Their Dead Passengers

Further to the accident that occurred on March 17, 2014 along the Benin-Ore road involving a "God Is Good Motors" Vehicle and a truck, the management of God Is Good Motors have made a press release sympathizing with families of passengers that died in their bus (Read here if you missed it). This is the same accident that killed the 29-year-old lady who was to wed in a month's time (See here).

Below is the said press release:

"The Management of God is Good Motors has expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the persons who died in a tragic road crash on Monday.

The accident occurred on 17th of March at about 3pm along Benin-Ore Expressway by Ugbogui Town. A truck belonging to a company (names withheld), which drove recklessly against traffic collided with our bus with registration number WWR 625 XA.

Every effort by our captain (driver) to avoid this situation proved abortive.

Why Governor Rotimi Amaechi Stormed Out Of Paul Okoye's Wedding

As an invitee, Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi was present at Paul Okoye and Anita's traditional marriage ceremony which held on Saturday. Unfortunately, he left the venue barely 30 minutes after he arrived. 

The governor who came in at about 2pm was told by his aides before he alighted from his vehicle that the event had not started and that neither the couple nor celebrity guests had arrived. He responded, 

‘If we wait for some time and they don’t come, we will leave. I don’t have time for all this.’ 

After posing for the camera, a visibly unimpressed Amaechi walked out of the hall accompanied by his aides and drove out of the event premises barely 30 minutes later.

The marriage ceremony, which was billed to start by 12pm, did not commence till around 2:45pm.

Day-Old Baby Boy Abandoned Inside A Soak Away Pit

Over the weekend, in Olomore Area of Abeokuta North Local Government of Ogun State, a day old baby who still has his placenta uncut was abandoned inside a soak away pit and was rescued only after he had cried for nearly 24 hours.

The baby who was abandoned in a soak away toilet behind Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church of Surulere community in Olomole area of Abeokuta North wept to the disturbance of the the vigil held in the said church till the early hours of Saturday.

Worshippers of C&S Church said while they were worshipping, they heard the baby crying, but could not link it to a particular direction. According to them, not suspecting anything amiss, they carried on with their vigil, and left for their respective houses later that morning.
